Dallas Fuel Sign Zachary “ZachaREEE” Lombardo to Play Flex DPS

Overwatch Contenders champion joins Dallas Fuel roster for Overwatch League season two

The Dallas Fuel announced they have signed 17-year-old Zachary “ZachaREEE” Lombardo to play flex DPS in the team’s second season competing in the Overwatch League. ZachaREEE was acquired by transfer from Philadelphia’s Fusion University team, where he most recently won the 2018 Overwatch Contenders: North America championship.

In his young competitive career, ZachaREEE is one of few players in the world to win Seasons 1 and Season 2 championships in Overwatch Contenders. In addition to his time with Fusion University, he competed this summer as a member of Team USA in the Overwatch World Cup 2018. ZachaREEE will celebrate his 18th birthday in January 2019, making him eligible to play with the Fuel for the full 2019 Overwatch League season.

“Adding a player with that could play projectile and have flexibility for across heroes was a major priority for us heading into season two,” said Mat Taylor, general manager of the Dallas Fuel. “Through scrims with our current roster, it was evident early on that ZachaREEE would be able to fit that role and mesh well with the team we’ve built for season two.”

Dallas Fuel head coach Aaron “Aero” Atkins said, “I feel very confident in the re-signed roster and the additions of Closer, rCk, ZachaREEE, and the coaching staff this offseason. Zach’s large hero pool and flexibility helps us fill needs heading into 2019. We’re focused now on being the best cohesive unit we can possibly be. There’s a lot to be excited for as a Dallas Fuel fan.”

ZachaREEE will relocate from Ovideo, Florida, to Los Angeles in the coming weeks and join the Fuel as they begin practicing for the 2019 Overwatch League season, which kicks off February 14.
