Major consumer brands are betting on the success of home and away esports matches as the Overwatch League™ goes on the road for a series of three Homestand Weekends in 2019, beginning with the Bud Light Homestand Weekend – Dallas on April 27-28. The Dallas Fuel franchise, owned and operated by Dallas-based Envy Gaming, Inc., today announced a growing list of brand partners signed as sponsors for the event including Bud Light, Jack in the Box, Favor, T-Mobile, GameStop, Greenberg Traurig, LLP, The University of Texas at Dallas, group ticketing platform Fevo, Omen by HP, Twin Peaks, Showtech, CORSAIR and Topgolf.
AB InBev (ABI), official global beer sponsor of the Overwatch League (excluding China), will promote its Bud Light brand as title sponsor of the Bud Light Homestand Weekend – Dallas. Fans attending the two-day event featuring eight Overwatch League matches can expect Bud Light-themed activations, including a Bud Light Watch Bar and special appearance by the Bud Knight, and viewers will see AB InBev branding integrated in the Overwatch League broadcast of the first regular-season home game in league history.
ESPN2 will telecast an exclusive two-hour Overwatch League program on April 27 from 8-10 p.m. EDT, featuring a matchup between the hometown Dallas Fuel team and the Los Angeles Valiant, and the Bud Light Post-Game Recap.
Bud Light will also launch a sweepstakes giving fans at the Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend a chance to win a trip to the 2019 Overwatch League Grand Finals. Fans can submit their unique gamertag to be included in a fan art mural, with lucky winners selected as sweepstakes winners.
Jack in the Box serves as the sole jersey-rights partner of the Dallas Fuel, in addition to its role as the official Quick Service Restaurant for the team dating back to 2017. As a true team player, Jack in the Box will be on-site activating at the Allen Event Center in celebration of the Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend, supporting the brand’s sponsorship in gaming.
Favor Delivery will activate on-site to offer fans the chance to upgrade their experience. On each event day, the first three fans who show the Favor app on their phone at Favor’s concourse activation space will be upgraded to the VIP Section. The Texas-based on-demand delivery service that offers “Anything Delivered” will also surprise lucky attendees seated throughout the venue with complimentary swag and snacks to fuel their weekend.
T-Mobile, the Official Wireless Provider of the Overwatch League, is sponsoring the Bud Light Homestand Weekend – Dallas and giving all fans that visit the T-Mobile booth the chance to win prizes including Overwatch League swag. T-Mobile customers attending the Dallas Fuel’s Homestand Weekend will enjoy an extra treat: expedited entry at the T-Mobile Fast Pass Lane, located at the main entrance of Allen Event Center.
GameStop, which previously announced a multiyear partnership with the Dallas Fuel, will activate for fans on-site and serve as the presenting sponsor of the Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend After Party on April 28.
Global law firm Greenberg Traurig has an established multi-office Video Games and Esports Group and represents multiple video game studios, esports teams, hardware developers, publishers and content owners. The Greenberg Traurig Lounge will host VIP attendees all weekend.
The University of Texas at Dallas, which recently launched a new esports program, will be active all weekend and on-site at the Allen Event Center with giveaways and program ambassadors to inform attendees of upcoming esports summer camps. Omen by HP is giving away two VIP tickets to the event and an OMEN 15 laptop to one lucky sweepstakes winner. Showtech Productions, Inc. is providing official AV equipment and services to the Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend. CORSAIR, which serves as the official headset, keyboard, mouse and mousepad provider to the Dallas Fuel, is supplying gaming peripherals for weekend giveaways and prize packages for winning cosplay contest entrants. Topgolf will host a welcome reception for Overwatch League officials, team staff and professional players before the weekend competition.
